The Gulf Coast Lactation Community Center is a nonprofit resource center dedicated to ensuring all families—regardless of income, insurance coverage, or background—have access to expert, compassionate support from pregnancy through postpartum. Located in Daphne, Alabama, the Center was created to fill a critical gap in care by offering accessible lactation services and education to families across the Gulf Coast. We are here to serve the families who need us most—any mother seeking breastfeeding help, regardless of income or insurance coverage. Whether you have no insurance, limited income, or a plan that doesn’t cover lactation care, you deserve access to expert, compassionate support-
and we’re here to provide it. We have services for everyone.

Our mission as a nonprofit is to deliver expert lactation care, essential maternal health services, and compassionate support through personalized consultations, classes, and resources.
Meet the Team
Scotty Thomson
RN, BSN, IBCLC
Founder, Gulf Coast Lactation
Scotty Thomson brings over 30 years of experience serving families through maternal-child care. A U.S. Navy veteran, she has worked in both hospital and community settings, including Labor and Delivery. Scotty is dedicated to supporting mothers beyond the hospital, helping them thrive in their breastfeeding and early parenting journeys. She founded Gulf Coast Lactation as a nonprofit to expand access to lactation care, education, and community support for all mothers across the Gulf Coast.
