DONATE
Your gift keeps expert breastfeeding support within reach for every family on the Gulf Coast.
Gulf Coast Lactation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Insurance covers many of our clinical visits, but it doesn't fund the free classes, support groups, and community outreach that so many families rely on. Your donation does.
WHY WE STARTED
A Story of Community, Not Crisis
In early 2025, a sudden shift in insurance partnerships left over 80% of families on the Gulf Coast without affordable access to lactation services. Scotty Thomson and the Gulf Coast Lactation team stepped up to fill that gap. Thanks to overwhelming community support, we opened the Gulf Coast Lactation Center in Daphne in August 2025. What began as an emergency response has grown into a permanent home for prenatal and postpartum care.
To everyone who has already given: thank you. Your generosity built the walls of our center and kept our doors open during a critical time for local families.

MISSION-CRITICAL SUPPORT
Where Your Donation Goes
We're proud to now accept Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare insurance, a major milestone toward making expert IBCLC care sustainable. But our mission hasn't changed: feeding your baby should never depend on your insurance card.
Your donation directly funds the parts of our work insurance doesn't cover:
Weekly Breastfeeding Support Groups
A safe space for community and peer support, free and open to all. Every session includes hands-on IBCLC care, weighted feeds, and a personalized feeding plan, the same expertise as a private visit, at no cost to the family.
Uninsured & Financial-Hardship Care
Discounted care for families without insurance coverage or facing financial barriers that need specialized care.
Free Educational Classes
Expert-led classes covering everything from prenatal prep to starting solids.
Supplies
Breastfeeding supplies, oral syringes, nipple shields, pump flanges, sample flanges for pumping, pump parts and sample pumps for educational purposes.
